Canyon Intro Day

The EoE Canyon Intro Day is for guests seeking unsurpassed Escalante beauty, exciting new challenges and empowerment through education.  This adventure focuses on teaching the fundamentals of canyoneering, including the introduction to rappelling and the simple techniques used to negotiate sandstone slot canyons.

All of this takes place in a centralized location, meaning, we have options... In one location, the super enthusiastic guests can rappel many times and learn technical skills, perhaps graduating to the more “spicy” stuff as confidence grows.  While at the same time, guests who would rather skip "all that rope stuff", can safely relax in comfort with a nice view of all the “action".  We are not committed to an objective or destination, our goal is to have a safe, confidence building experience together as a group.

For context, the Canyon Intro Day reaches a moment very early on, where we are “committed” to the canyon and mileage. This means the way forward will be down and through the obstacles within the canyon, as a group.  Reversing the obstacles or just “waiting here” will not be a safe or reasonable option.  The Canyon Intro Day is an option for groups with small children or group members who may not be up for the committed mileage combined of scrambling, hiking and rappelling on the Canyoneering Adventures.

* We want you to have an excellent day and finish strong, so please consider the most appropriate level of adventure for your trip with us.  We can always add “spice" to the tour, but once it's in the soup, there is no getting it out.  Be smart, have fun and choose wisely.  🙂

Explore. Grow. Be Amazed.
