Many guests prefer to “go private” when doing tours. Booking exclusive allows guests the opportunity to share this extraordinary experience with family and friends of their choosing. Others simply wish to have the day all to themselves adding yet another adventure to their bucket list. - ** Please inquire for Private Rates on the Canyoneering Adventure Day, Canyoneering High Adventure Day & Canyon Intro Day.
We Provide: Coffee, Tea or Juice upon arrival. Ice Cream/sorbet upon return from tour. Backpacks, necessary equipment and water bottles. - No prior rappelling or hiking experience necessary.
- Private Adventures are catered completely to your group’s abilities and interests.
- We provide all necessary gear (including backpacks and water bottles), coffee/tea or juice in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon.
- Tours begin at our shop (125 E. Main Street, Escalante) 7:00 AM (May-August) & 7:30 AM April & September - November)
- Tours return between 2:00 PM-4:30 PM - depending your activity, location and group size.
- The guides choose from about 12 canyons each day. The guides determine each day’s canyon the morning of the trip based on the weather and your group. Safety First.
- Distance covered ranges from 3-5 miles
- Elevation gain/loss ranges from 500-1000ft
- Rappels; 2-5 ranging from 30-275 ft in length
- The canyons we guide are within a 20-40 minute drive from our main street shop.
- We can accommodate up to 10 guests on Private Tours.
- We specialize in guiding off the beaten path locations. We do not guide Spooky, Peekaboo, Tunnel, Zebra, Bighorn etc.
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
What to Wear & Bring:
Wear your “Play” Clothes: You should wear clothes that will not rip or tear easily, allow flexibility and make sure you’re not too “attached” to them (they will get dirty). In early Spring and Fall, light fleece, light hiking pants, maybe shorts. NO stretchy type leggings or tights. They tear too easily. Prerequisites
- Guests must be comfortable hiking between 3-4 miles on uneven terrain/no trails.
- Each guest must be able to carry a small backpack (approx. 10-12lbs) containing 2-3 liters of water, lunch, necessary gear and personal items. Adjustments are made for small children.
- Guests must wear the proper clothing and footwear for safety purposes.
