Canyoneering High Adventure Day
Our Canyoneering High Adventure Tour offers the “next level” of canyoneering experience. These tours can be physically challenging, incredibly scenic and highly rewarding. The rappels are bigger, the canyons longer and the challenges more complex.
Canyoneering High Adventure Day is recommended for guests with previous “technical” experience. Rock climbing, zip lining, waterfall rappels, a tour with us…..some activities that require trusting equipment and others.
The pace is slow and steady, like all of our tours, but the physical commitment is real. Guests need to be efficient with energy output while hiking and rappelling, as well as being ready to help others on the Team. By doing this, we can visit some of the Earths most visually stunning, seldom visited places

Canyoneering High Adventure Day
- RATES:
$275 Per Person Groups of 4+
$900 Per Day Groups of 3
$675 Per Day Minimum Groups of 2
(Minimum Day Rates apply when not joining an already scheduled group) - RATES INCLUDE: Coffee, Tea or Juice upon arrival. Ice Cream/Sorbet upon return from tour. Canyoneering equipment including backpacks.
- Ages 14+ years are welcome. (exceptions may be made for Private Tours)
- We provide all necessary gear (including backpacks and water bottles), coffee/tea or juice in the morning and ice cream in the afternoon.
- Tours begin at our shop (125 E. Main Street, Escalante) 7:00 AM (May-August) and 7:30 AM (April & October-November)
- Tours return between 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM depending on group size.
- The guides choose from about 6 canyons. The guides determine each day’s canyon the morning of the trip based on the weather and group.
- Distance covered is 4 to 6 miles
- Elevation gain/loss up to 1000 ft
- Rappels; 2-5 up to 275 ft in length
- The canyons we guide are within a 20-40 minute drive from our main street shop.
- We take up to 8 guests on these regularly scheduled canyoneering tours. (We can accommodate up to 10 guests on Private Tours).
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING
What to Wear & Bring:
Start at the top of a fantastic slot canyon. Slowly hike down the canyon using your feet, hands and butt to make it easy. When its is too “spicy” to slide, we use the equipment you are wearing to safely and smoothly rappel down to begin hiking again. Depending on the choice, during a full day of canyoneering there may be as few as 1-2 small rappels. The rope is a only simple tool we use to make things easier and safer, not a means of unnecessarily scaring people.

Prerequisites
- Minimum Age - 14 years (exceptions made for Private Tours)
- Rappelling experience highly recommended.
- Guests must be comfortable hiking between 4-6 miles on uneven terrain/no trails with an elevation gain/loss of up to 1000ft
- Each guest must be able to carry a backpack (approx. 12lbs) containing 3-4 liters of water, lunch, harness, helmet and personal items.
- Able to assist with carrying of rope.
- Guests must wear proper clothing and footwear (safety purposes).
